“Zorba, Fado and AI – an European Feast at Miejski Zespół Szkół w Wysokiem Mazowieckiem”
From 13 to 17 October, the community of Miejski Zespół Szkół w Wysokiem Mazowieckiem celebrated #ErasmusDays 2025 – an international event promoting the Erasmus+ programme and the core values of the European Union: dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law, and human rights.
During the celebrations, students and teachers showcased the outcomes of their Erasmus+ mobilities – the students’ mobility in Portugal and the teachers’ mobility in Greece. Each class took part in a classroom decoration contest, designing their space according to the theme of the country they drew – Greece or Portugal. The school filled with southern European colours, symbols, and flavours, while a special photo wall became a cheerful meeting and memory spot.
Among the highlights were a Greek Day, Greek Gods–themed disco, a Portuguese Day, a quiz on Greece and Portugal for students from grades 4 to 8, and an Artificial Intelligence Day (AI Day), inspired by topics explored during the teachers’ mobility in Greece.
In the classroom, students studied Greek mythology, solved puzzles and riddles, and used Pythagorean theorem during math lessons.
The week culminated in a school-wide assembly in the sports hall, attended by local government representatives. During the final event titled “The Feast of the Greek Gods”, participants presented mobility experiences through dance, theatre, and film – including the famous Zorba dance, short performances, and mobility videos accompanied by commentary.
The Erasmus Week at Miejski Zespół Szkół w Wysokiem Mazowieckiem proved that education truly has the power to build a better world – one based on cooperation, openness, and shared European values.
