“The Door is always Open in our European House / Moomin and Pipi in my Library”

Inspired by the “free spirit” of “Pipi the Long stocking” character and the “peaceful and inclusive society” of “Moomin” characters, we are initiating in the Municipal University Library Of Limassol, a multicultural event for the 80 years of the existence of those children’s literature characters, that promote equality, inclusivity, diversity and peace! Our extraordinary team “The Readers” ( an inclusive team of children with different age, country of origin, gender, neurodiversity and disability) will present the characters to the public, they will initiate a treasure hunt game, they will paint the “house with the open door” with all the children participating, and they will make a draw of 4 small “literature shelters” for schools. The library will also have, at the same time, an exhibition of school art works inspired by the characters. The event will be honoured by the ambassadors of Finland and Sweden in Cyprus and the Commissionaire of Children’s Rights.
