Reading Primo Levi: Memory and Human Dignity

Students and teachers at IES José Ibáñez Martín (Lorca, Spain) will participate in a collective reading of an excerpt from Primo Levi’s If This Is a Man. The activity aims to promote reflection on human dignity, historical memory, and the dangers of intolerance. The reading will be performed in several languages (Spanish, English, French, Italian) to highlight Europe’s linguistic and cultural diversity. After the reading, students will share short reflections and discuss how Levi’s testimony remains relevant today in addressing discrimination, hate speech, and human rights challenges in Europe and beyond.
