University of Jaén

The University of Jaén (UJA) International Ceremony is an event that celebrates, highlights, and recognises the invaluable contribution that international students make to the university in a global context. Its main objective is to reward excellence, academic achievements, and cultural contributions made by these students. Recognition of their efforts will take the form of diplomas and awards.
Essentially, the ceremony seeks to:
Value diversity: Recognise the richness that the different cultural and academic perspectives of international students bring.
Celebrate excellence: Highlight the effort and success in studies, as well as in cultural and integration activities carried out by students.
Foster global connection: Underline the role of the UJA as a centre for international education and a meeting point for talent from around the world.
With a strong international focus, the University of Jaén welcomes around 900 international students each year, many of whom arrive through the prestigious Erasmus+ programme, which not only promotes academic and cultural exchange, but also reinforces the values of cooperation, inclusion and global citizenship.
This event not only pays tribute to the students, but also reinforces the UJA’s commitment to internationalisation and the creation of an inclusive and enriching university environment for all.
To round off the event and encourage socialising, a cocktail party will be held for all international students at the end of the ceremony.
