Open to public
Dialogue Supporting Foundation "Let's Talk" (Fundacja Wspierania Dialogu "Rozmawiajmy")
Have you ever wondered why people from Western Europe tend to be more to-the-point, interpret what you say literally and sometimes you may even consider their behaviour as rude, while others don’t miss the context while interpreting the conversation? Yes, it’s all about the CONTEXT! Context is all about type of relationship between interlocutors, hierarchy in your group/ society, gender, age, etc. During this training you will get familiar with the theory of high- and low-context cultures and how it may influence your conversations. We will also discuss the six intercultural dimensions by Geert Hofstede: individualism vs collectivism, masculinity vs femininity, power distance, uncertainty avoidance, indulgence-restrain, long- term vs short-term motivation.
The training will be held in Warsaw (exact place to be decided soon) on October the 16th, from 5.30 to 8.30.
