EUPROGEMS / European Union as key factor to promote Gender Equality through Musical Studies’ (Conservatorio “Santa Cecilia”, Rome, 2023-26, responsible Carla Conti) is a Jean Monnet action’s project dedicated to the experimentation in Higher Musical Education Institutes of innovative approaches to promote Gender Equality as an implementation of the great strategy of EU. This is the first victory for an Italian Higher Education Institution in this international action. EUPROGEMS will pursue the following objectives: promote European values of equal opportunities and dignity between women and men through cooperative learning, aiming at the autonomy, independence and critical thinking of participants, students first and foremost; encourage key elements of music studies in the perspective of Gender Equality, as a new paradigm in which participants reflect together to drive structural changes in gender integration for active European citizenship, and develop the analytical approach to support the implementation of the EU Gender Equality strategy to overcome all gender stereotypes in music careers.
