Gdynia Maritime University

As part of #ErasmusDays 2025: Live our values, inspire our future, the Maritime University of Gdynia invites Erasmus+ students and our university community to take part in a special international event titled “Erasmus on Deck”, which will take place on 16 October 2025. This initiative reflects the spirit of Erasmus+ by fostering integration, celebrating diversity, and building bridges between students of different cultural backgrounds.
The highlight of the day will be a boat cruise, giving participants the unique chance to see Gdynia from the sea. More than just a scenic experience, the cruise is designed to strengthen integration, encourage teamwork, and promote the values of equality, solidarity, and inclusiveness. Onboard, students will have the opportunity to connect with one another, share stories, and build friendships that reflect the intercultural spirit of Erasmus+.
The program also includes an interactive integration game, where collaboration and creativity come together to encourage teamwork and strengthen the sense of belonging. This activity reflects the European Union’s commitment to non-discrimination, tolerance, and mutual respect, providing students with a meaningful and engaging way to learn from each other.
To further inspire curiosity, the event will feature planetarium shows and demonstrations in UMG laboratories, presenting science and innovation in an accessible and exciting way. These activities are designed to spark interest in scientific discovery, showcase the academic strengths of our university, and inspire students to pursue their studies with us. At the same time, they emphasize the maritime character and cultural richness of Gdynia, connecting education with local identity.
“Erasmus on Deck” is more than an event—it is a celebration of the values that unite us across Europe: human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law, and human rights. By joining us on 16 October, you will not only celebrate Erasmus+ but also embrace the shared ideals of inclusion, solidarity, and intercultural dialogue that shape our common European future.
