Country Mix – Erasmus Days Activity (CulSolidArt vol. II)

As part of the youth exchange CulSolidArt vol. II, we will organize a special event for Erasmus Days 2025, taking place on 18 October in Goričko, Slovenia – a rural area in the Prekmurje region.

CulSolidArt vol. II is a continuation of the successful youth exchange implemented in 2023, where young people explored how culture, solidarity, and art can connect communities and inspire change. Friendships, new competences, and results from the first edition encouraged us to take the project a step further – this time with the creation of an original song, music video, and a final performance in Murska Sobota. The main goal of the project is to show how art can be a powerful tool against discrimination, for the promotion of human rights and solidarity, while also opening space for dialogue on crucial topics such as peace, mental health, and intercultural understanding.

During the Erasmus Days event, we will carry out an interactive activity called “Country Mix.” Participants will be divided into six groups, with each group initially representing their own country. However, through a draw, each group will receive the name of another participating country, which they will then have to present creatively on a poster – without using the internet or mobile phones.

The idea is to encourage young people to reflect on what they already know (or think they know) about other countries – including stereotypes, cultural symbols, and facts – and to see how their country is perceived by others. After the presentations, there will be a group reflection to compare impressions, discuss possible stereotypes, and highlight the importance of authentic cultural exchange and mutual learning.

This activity not only serves as a fun and engaging way to get to know the participating countries better, but it also helps participants prepare for their national evenings during the exchange. At the same time, it shows how creative and playful methods can break down barriers, foster intercultural dialogue, and strengthen solidarity among young people.
