BEYOND THE GRID – Re-Imagining Urban Life will be a week-opportunity to explore in depth what makes a city truly beautiful and capable of generating value for its citizens, going far beyond simple urban aesthetics. Through analytical study and an experiential workshops, we will question the deep relationship between citizens and urban space: how the city becomes the scene of experiences that are fundamental to individual and collective well-being, and how these spaces influence identity, relationships and a sense of belonging.
All this will be set within a framework of critical reflection on the concept of urban sustainability, understood not only as a reduction of environmental impact, but as the activation of dynamics capable of influencing the quality of life. A journey through data, emotions and urban policies to rethink the way we live, build and dream our cities.
The course will be articulated through theoretical-practical activities that will take place both inside different buildings of the Academy, all located in the heart of the city, and outside, with immersive moments in the historic center. The activities will include group work, urban explorations, photographic research, manual practices and moments of interdisciplinary discussion, with the aim of stimulating an active and participative reflection on the active role of the citizen in the construction, interpretation and transformation of urban space.
