Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences IAKE

As part of the Erasmus Days 2025, the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences (IAKE) will actively participate in an educational event organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Primary Education of Heraklion and the Environmental Education Center of Archanes-Rouvas-Gouves (KPE/K.E.P.E.A.). The event will welcome educators from France and Cyprus, who will explore environmental education practices in Crete and exchange good practices with their Greek colleagues.
During the event, the Erasmus+ projects “BE GREEN” and “Digi-Empathy” will be presented, both of which focus on enhancing students’ environmental awareness, fostering empathy in the digital era, and promoting sustainability and responsible digital citizenship through innovative pedagogical approaches and the use of new technologies.
The meeting aims to:
exchange best practices in education for sustainability,
discuss the integration of sustainability into school curricula,
co-develop educational materials and a digital platform with ready-to-use lesson plans,
strengthen cross-border cooperation between schools,
and raise awareness among school communities through targeted educational actions.

This initiative reflects a meaningful opportunity for international collaboration and highlights the role of education in shaping a greener, more inclusive, and future-ready school culture.
