eCO-OPerate! with Fóti Fáy
The title of our project (e/eco/cooperate) is an acronym that refers to e-learning, sustainability and collaboration at the same time. The improvement of all three activities is in the focus of our project goals.
The three goals are in focus in different project periods, but they always play an important role. Starting from the 2021-22 project year, our teachers have been participating in teacher training courses abroad annually (5-10 mobilities per year). These are mainly methodology and ICT trainings, and during the school year the participants actively use what they have learned.
Another recurring activity typeis the international student mobility, with the aim of education for sustainability, ICT competences and the improvement of cooperative skills.
The job shadowing visits are great for learning foreign good practices and for building international contacts. So far, there have been visits to Helsinki and Milan.
Environmental education and sustainability play a very important role in Fáy school. Student groups learn a lot about this topic when they take part in international mobilities, and when they return, they are eager to share their experiences and put their ideas into action. E.g. building a school garden, collecting used paper and batteries.
Within the framework of our Erasmus project, we have also worked out our own survey method to monitor and assess cooperation skills. The survey is performed in four-year cycles, so the results are comparable. We want to follow the changes in students’ and teachers’ cooperative attitudes in the long term. With the help of this survey it will be possible to measure how much this competence can be developed as a result of the Erasmus programme.
Our other idea is the Erasmus family day, where we share experiences and information about the Erasmus programme with parents and those who are interested in the form of a tea party – talking, playing games and quizzes.
