Your Voice in Europe

“Your Voice in Europe” is a simulation game of the European Parliament in which participants represent the 8 political groups in the Parliament, as well as different lobbying groups capable of influencing European decision-making processes. Through this playful and participatory activity, participants will learn about the functioning of European institutions, negotiation mechanisms and different political positions, while debating, negotiating, building alliances and reaching agreements on a common legislative proposal.

The central theme of the negotiations will be the link between human rights and climate change. Participants will reflect on the social and human consequences of the climate crisis and on possible responses at European level, understanding how European decisions can have concrete consequences for territories, populations and access to rights.

The activity is rooted in Amycos’ approach, which focuses on the relationship between human rights, social justice, climate change and environmental protection, as well as on the interdependence between local and global issues. It also promotes democracy, citizen participation, cooperation, inclusion and solidarity.

Particular attention will be paid to the Human Right to a Clean, Healthy and Sustainable Environment (HR2E), recognised by the United Nations General Assembly in 2022. Participants will approach environmental issues as a matter of human rights and justice, reflect on how this right can be integrated into European policies, and explore the role of institutions and citizen participation in building collective responses to the environmental crisis.
