Union of Skills

The Municipality of South Nicosia–Idalion is proud to announce the organisation of an open public event as part of Erasmus Days 2026, centred around the theme of the “Union of Skills”, promoting intergenerational learning, lifelong education, and active civic participation. The event will highlight the importance of skills development as a tool for social cohesion, personal growth, and active European engagement.
The event will take place on Friday, 16 October 2026, at the Lympia Cultural Centre or Lympia Community Park, depending on weather conditions, and will feature activities combining local cultural heritage with 21st-century skills. A key element of the event will be the two-way exchange of knowledge between younger and older participants, showcasing the value of collaboration and intergenerational learning.
Information stands will also be in operation, hosted by organisations and bodies participating in the Erasmus+ programme, providing information on opportunities for mobility, training, volunteering, and international partnerships. In addition, short thematic workshops for both young people and adults will be held in line with Erasmus+ programme priorities.
The event aspires to serve as a meeting point for the local community, strengthening the promotion of Erasmus+ values, civic participation, and the creation of a community that invests in knowledge, collaboration, and continuous skills development.
