Taste of Romania

As part of ErasmusDays, the “Romanian Food Workshop” will be conducted by a teacher who participated in a teaching and learning mobility in Romania. The teacher will share the cultural and professional experiences gained during the mobility with the students. In the first part of the activity, the teacher will introduce traditional Romanian dishes and provide information about the ingredients, preparation methods, and cultural background of a selected dish. Students will actively participate by guessing the dishes from pictures and answering simple questions in English such as “What is it?”, “What ingredients do we need?” and “Would you like to try it? Then, students will work in small groups for the “Build Your Romanian Menu” activity. Each group will receive cards or pictures of different Romanian dishes and will choose one starter, one main course, one dessert, and one drink to create their own Romanian menu. The groups will give their menu a creative restaurant name and present it briefly in English to the class. At the end of the activity, students will vote for their favourite menu and choose “The Best Romanian Menu.” Through this activity, students will have the opportunity to discover Romanian culture and cuisine, improve their English communication skills, use their vocational knowledge of gastronomy, and experience the cultural and professional learning opportunities provided by Erasmus+ mobility.
