Solar Village: How Does Shading Affect Temperature and Energy Efficiency?
MIC
Volkmerjeva cesta 19, Ptuj, Slovenia
Open to public
School Center Ptuj
As part of ErasmusDays 2026, two classes at Strojna šola, Šolski center Ptuj, will take part in a learning activity developed within the Erasmus+ project Solar Village (2024-1-SI01-KA220-VET-000256327). Students will investigate how the orientation of a building and different types of shading affect indoor temperature and energy efficiency. Using temperature measurements from the Solar Village model houses in Slovenia, they will compare unshaded windows with internal and external shading, calculate temperature differences and heat flow, and discuss what the results mean for sustainable building design. The activity connects physics with real project data and encourages students to develop digital and analytical skills.
