Silken Echoes – Erasmus Days 2026
Organized as part of Erasmus Days 2026, Silken Echoes is an immersive cultural experience designed to connect international young people with Alanya’s millennia-old history, living heritage, and local traditions.
The highlight of the event is a guided historical tour through two of Alanya’s iconic Seljuk landmarks—the Red Tower (Kızılkule) and the Historic Shipyard (Tersane)—where participants will explore the city’s multicultural past, remarkable architecture, and rich maritime heritage firsthand.
Following this historical journey, 20 participants will take part in a hands-on silkworm cocoon crafting workshop in the mystical atmosphere of the ancient Cistern area. Guided by expert instructors and inspired by the endemic flora of Alanya Castle, they will transform traditional silkworm cocoons into elegant floral artworks using local craftsmanship techniques. Each participant will take home their handmade creation as a meaningful keepsake of Alanya’s cultural heritage.
The experience will be completed with authentic local flavors, including the geographically indicated S Pastry and refreshing Alanya Lemonade, bringing together history, traditional craftsmanship, and gastronomy in a memorable Erasmus Days celebration.
