INSTITUTE OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES
As part of the Erasmus Days 2026 celebrations, the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences IAKE participates in European dissemination and awareness-raising activities by presenting the Erasmus+ project RefuLearn – Learning for a Brighter Future in a New Homeland. The event aims to inform and raise public awareness about the importance of adult education as a means of promoting social inclusion, empowerment, and the active participation of refugees and asylum seekers in their host societies. Special emphasis is placed on the presentation of the RefuLearn Handbook, a practical guide developed through international cooperation among partners from Greece, Poland, and Türkiye. The Handbook provides examples of good practices, useful information, and practical recommendations concerning access to education, language learning, understanding rights and responsibilities, and strengthening social integration and active citizenship. Through the presentation of the project’s objectives, activities, and educational outcomes, the event highlights the fundamental values of Erasmus+, including inclusion, equal opportunities, intercultural dialogue, European cooperation, and lifelong learning. Above all, it conveys the message that education can serve as a bridge towards a brighter future in a new homeland, empowering individuals, connecting communities, and fostering a more inclusive and welcoming European society.
