Let’s grow our green promises together and celebrate the Erasmus spirit through nature, creativity, friendship, and sustainability!

As part of #ErasmusDays 2026, we are five young volunteers participating in the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programme, working together to inspire children to become more environmentally conscious and actively involved in protecting our planet.

Through our “The Living Forest” workshops, we will engage children from three schools in creative, interactive, and inclusive environmental activities. Participants will explore forest ecosystems by observing natural materials such as leaves, soil, moss, and water, discovering the importance of biodiversity and sustainable living.

The highlight of our event will be the creation of a “European Tree of Green Promises” using recycled materials. Each child will add a leaf containing a personal promise to protect the environment, such as saving water, reducing plastic waste, caring for plants, or protecting wildlife.

Children will also explore the diversity of European forests, create nature-inspired artwork, and collaborate in inclusive teams, promoting friendship, solidarity, and respect for nature.

The trees created by the participating schools will be brought together in a digital exhibition called “Our European Forest of Promises”, showcasing children’s creativity and commitment to a sustainable future.

Through this initiative, we aim to demonstrate how young volunteers can make a positive impact in their communities, while promoting the shared European values of solidarity, inclusion, environmental responsibility, and active citizenship.

Every leaf is a promise, every promise makes a difference, and together we can grow a greener Europe!
