The Oxford-style debate “For a Young European, Spain Offers a Richer Cultural Experience than Germany” will be an event organized as part of the Erasmus+ project, focusing on exploring our shared European heritage and the cultural diversity of Europe.
The debate will provide students with an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of Spain and Germany, including their cultures, history, geography, and traditions, as well as to confront different perspectives on European heritage. Participants will develop their argumentation, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills, as well as their intercultural competences. The event will also provide an opportunity to foster openness and sensitivity to social and cultural diversity.
The debate responds to students’ need to broaden their knowledge of the European Union and its Member States, particularly in a situation where not everyone has the opportunity to experience other countries personally through travel. The knowledge and experience gained during the preparation for the debate will subsequently be used to share information with the wider school community, supporting the development of European awareness and fostering interest in the cultures of partner countries.
