Outdoor Learning in Higher Education

Higher Education (HE) teaching and learning traditionally takes place indoors. However, many disciplines use Outdoor Learning (OL) on and off campus to afford real-life opportunities that deepen subject-specific learning, while also bringing health and well-being benefits from nature engagement and developing transformative competencies and green skills.
This workshop introduces OL and its diverse benefits in HE. To experience its simplicity and value first-hand, we will spend part of the session in a nearby park with practical OL activities. We discuss your experience and questions raised, and share findings and practical resources from the OLHE project, including online resources and network support for integrating OL into teaching and learning practice.
