Music Connects Europe -Müzik Avrupayı Birleştirir

ErasmusDays 2026 – Event Description

Music Connects Europe – Müzik Avrupa’yı Birleştirir is a music and cultural awareness activity organised with the participation of primary and lower secondary school students.

The activity aims to celebrate cultural diversity in Europe and highlight the power of music as a universal language that brings people together.

The students will perform Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy”, a melody that is widely recognised across Europe. Students will represent different European countries through flags and short cultural references. The activity will begin with students standing in separate country groups. During the performance, the groups will gradually come together and finally perform as one choir.

Primary school students will participate mainly through flag carrying, simple movements and the final performance, while lower secondary students will take active roles in the choir, instrumental performance, presentation and organisation.

The participating country groups will represent Türkiye, Germany, France, Italy and Spain.

The activity will conclude with the message:

“Different countries, different languages, different cultures – one music. Music Connects Europe!”

The event will be documented through photographs and a short video, subject to the necessary school and parental permissions, and may be shared through the school’s communication channels.

Through this activity, students will develop awareness of European cultural diversity, inclusion, cooperation and intercultural dialogue while experiencing how music can connect people beyond language and national borders.
