Other event

The Erasmus Day in October 2026 aims to celebrate cultural diversity and enhance global awareness among middle school students at the Europaschule Linz aged 12 to 14. Building on the successful format from Erasmus Day 2025, this engaging event will bring together 50 students who will work collaboratively in groups to explore various European countries, represented by Erasmus students at the University of Education Upper Austria (PH OOE)

The day will commence with a dynamic Scavenger Hunt, which will serve as a fun icebreaker and help in grouping the students. They gather hints and clues related to different Erasmus country cultures.

Following the Scavenger Hunt, students will transition to a series of numbered tables, each representing a different country. Erasmus students will prepare interactive activities at these tables that will include aspects of their cultures such as traditional dances, music, culinary delights, and geographical knowledge.

Students will spend around 25 minutes at each table, engaging with the activities presented by their Erasmus counterparts. After this period, they will rotate to the next table, ensuring that they experience a variety of cultures throughout the day. The use of a travel guide will enhance their experience, allowing students to take notes, gather information about each country, and check maps, which they can use for further exploration and learning.

Overall, Erasmus Day 2026 promises to be an enriching experience, combining fun, learning, and cultural exchange in a supportive and interactive environment. This project not only aims to foster global citizenship among young students but also strengthens ties between diverse communities through shared educational experiences.

The common language of the event will be English but students should also engage with other languages spoken in the partner countries.
