From Dough to Europe: Exploring European Dough Products

Students of Ortahisar Vocational Training Centre will discover European culinary traditions through a creative, hands-on activity. Using modelling clay, they will recreate six traditional dough products from Italy (ravioli), Germany (pretzel), France (croissant), Spain (empanada), Austria (Apfelstrudel) and Greece (spanakopita).

Working in teams, students will explore the origins and characteristics of these products, practise shaping techniques and learn about the diversity of European food culture. Their models will be displayed in a school exhibition featuring country flags, product names and basic dough techniques.

The activity aims to develop students’ creativity, teamwork, cultural awareness and vocational skills while promoting European diversity and intercultural learning. It will also highlight how vocational education connects traditional knowledge with practical skills and shared European values.
