Creating a “Travel Corner”: “Fernanditos Around the World”

A space will be set up in each classroom where students can share postcards, photographs, or drawings related to places they have visited, their hometown or village, or a place that is significant to their family.
Once a week, during English class, a few minutes will be set aside for one or more students to present their contributions to the rest of the class. In this way, the corner serves not merely as decoration but becomes an activity that fosters oral expression, awareness of one’s surroundings, and the discovery of other cultures and places.
To ensure everyone can participate on an equal footing, you can explain that having traveled is not a requirement. Students can also contribute:
• A photo of their town or city.
• A place where relatives live.
• A nearby landscape they like.
• A drawing of a place they would like to visit.
• An image of a place connected to their family history.
