Europe in Colours – Discover European Flags

Our first-grade students will discover Europe through colours and flags in a fun and creative activity called “Europe in Colours”.
Students will explore the flags of different European countries and learn to recognise their colours, shapes and country names. They will choose European flags, colour or design them and discover that each country has its own symbols and visual identity.
During the activity, students will use simple English expressions such as “What flag is it?”, “It’s the Italian flag.” and “I like this flag.” They will also have the opportunity to talk about colours and countries in a simple and age-appropriate way.
The students’ flag designs will be brought together to create a colourful “Our Europe” flag display at school. In this way, individual student products will become part of a shared European classroom and school display.
The activity aims to develop cultural awareness, curiosity, creativity and simple English communication while helping young learners discover the diversity of Europe.
