Established in 2011 by eight polytechnic institutes in Portugal’s Central Region, the Erasmuscentro Consortium was the country’s first regional Erasmus consortium.
Erasmuscentro was created to strengthen the quality, efficiency and inclusiveness of Erasmus+ mobility opportunities through a collaborative regional approach. By bringing together higher education institutions around a shared vision of internationalisation, the consortium fosters institutional cooperation, mutual learning and regional cohesion.
Over more than a decade, Erasmuscentro has evolved into a sustainable model of collective action and shared responsibility, demonstrating how regional partnerships can enhance the impact and inclusiveness of Erasmus+ mobility.
Today, Erasmuscentro stands as a national and international reference for collaborative approaches to internationalisation, highlighting the value of regional networks in widening participation and strengthening the European dimension of higher education.
