Inclusive Education For Sustainable Development -IESD
International collaboration in higher education plays a critical role in strengthening academic quality, innovation, research capacity, and global competitiveness. Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) offers an important platform for universities and institutions to enhance institutional development through partnerships between European and partner country institutions.
Despite Zambia’s growing higher education sector, many institutions remain unaware of Erasmus+ funding opportunities, application procedures, partnership development mechanisms, and staff/student mobility benefits. Limited awareness and technical capacity have reduced participation rates in Erasmus+ CBHE programs.
This project seeks to bridge this gap by actively engaging 10 higher education institutions in Zambia through awareness campaigns, training workshops, and partnership facilitation with European universities. The project will strengthen institutional capacity to develop competitive Erasmus+ proposals and expand international academic cooperation.
Overall Goal
To increase participation of Zambian Higher Education Institutions in Erasmus+ programmes through awareness creation, capacity building, and partnership development.
Specific Objectives
To raise awareness of Erasmus+ CBHE opportunities among 10 Zambian higher education institutions.
To strengthen institutional capacity to prepare competitive Erasmus+ applications.
To promote partnerships between Zambian institutions and European Union universities.
To enhance opportunities for student and staff exchange programmes.
To support development of sustainable international collaboration frameworks
