Discovering and understanding the UE
Rue de Brunoy, 91480 Quincy-sous-Sénart, France
Vocational School Les Frères Moreau
During Erasmus Days, students will take part in a range of activities in English to explore Europe, discover mobility opportunities and develop skills for their future.
An online quiz and discussion activity, “Europe and Me”, will invite students to share their ideas: Which European language would they like to learn, and why? What is the greatest advantage of being an EU citizen? Which European city or region would they like to discover? They will also discuss how to overcome language barriers, what to pack for a trip abroad and how travelling can change their view of the world. Finally, they will choose three words to sum up what Europe means to them.
Students will then create “My Skills Passport”, presenting three skills they already have, with a concrete example for each, and two skills they would like to develop during an experience abroad.
They will also discover DiscoverEU to explore the travel opportunities it offers young people.
Through eTwinning, students will communicate and collaborate with peers from a European partner school will encourage them to exchange viewpoints and reflect on European citizenship.
Working in groups, students will prepare short presentations about different EU countries, introducing their location, capital, languages and culture, alongside surprising fun facts.
Throughout the week, interactive classroom quizzes will give students opportunities to test their knowledge of European countries, languages, cultures, EU values and Erasmus+. Played individually or in teams, these quizzes will help them revisit what they have learned.
Finally, students will listen to testimonials from young people who have taken part in Erasmus+ mobility experiences. They will identify their reasons for going abroad, the challenges they faced and the skills they developed, before discussing whether they would like to take part in a similar experience.
These activities will help students strengthen their language and digital skills, build confidence and independence, and develop their creativity, teamwork and cultural awareness.
