Building Sustainable Smart Cities – Romania

This event is meant to share the results of the Erasmus+ project ”Sustainability and Cultural Heritage in Romania and Turkey” with the high school students at Colegiul Național „Petru Rareș”. It will recreate the sustainable smart cities workshop from the Ankara mobility (20-24 April 2026). Following theoretical discussions, the students will be asked to work in teams to design posters and build scale models of eco-friendly urban spaces, using recyclable materials such as cardboard plates and other general craft supplies.
Working on these physical models will give the students a chance to practise their technical skills and think about their future career options too. Working out the sustainable smart city’s infrastructure will build their green skills and environmental awareness. Because they have to negotiate and make decisions as a group, the workshop also encourages active citizenship and critical thinking. Building something tangible together will also strengthen their social bonds and teamwork.
