Behind the Scenes at NGP: Meet the Curator

How does an exhibition come to life? And what happens behind the scenes before its doors open to the public?
Discover the answers to these questions and more at the first event in our new series, Behind the Scenes at NGP. Andrea Steckerová, Curator of the Old Masters Collection, will offer insights into the work of a curator, from developing exhibition concepts and selecting artworks to collaborating with specialist teams and navigating the challenges involved in bringing an exhibition to life. She will also share her professional journey, areas of expertise, and experiences from projects she has worked on at the National Gallery Prague.
Our new series, Behind the Scenes at NGP, offers members of the NGP Friends Club a unique glimpse into the inner workings of the gallery. Through informal gatherings, you will meet the people behind our exhibitions, collection care, and day-to-day operations, gaining insight into aspects of the gallery that usually remain hidden from visitors.
The Behind the Scenes at NGP series was developed with the support of the Erasmus+ programme. As the inaugural event is taking place as part of the Erasmus Days 2026 celebrations, we are opening it to the general public. We warmly invite you to join us with your family and friends!
