An Island in the Mediterranean, a School Connected to Europe
As part of Erasmus+ Days, our school will celebrate our connection with Europe through languages, cultures, mobility experiences, collaboration and student achievement.
A dedicated Erasmus+ Days stand will be set up in the school foyer, creating a colourful and interactive space for students to discover Europe. The stand will feature European flags, greetings in different European languages and Erasmus+ visuals and information.
Throughout the day, the school’s screens will showcase a video created by Erasmus+ Coordinators, “Europe – From A to Z”, celebrating European languages, cultures, values and diversity. The video will offer students an engaging journey through Europe while highlighting our shared European identity.
During morning assemblies, students will be introduced to Erasmus+ Days, learning about how schools and organisations across Europe are celebrating Erasmus+ and the opportunities it creates for learning, collaboration and intercultural exchange.
The assemblies will also provide an opportunity to celebrate and recognise student and staff achievement in eTwinning. Certificates will be presented to participants involved in eTwinning projects that have been awarded National Quality Labels and Pupil Quality Labels, recognising their contribution to international collaboration and project-based learning.
The Erasmus+ stand will also feature a visual exhibition of our students’ mobility experiences, including photographs and memories from visits such as Rome and Belgium. These experiences will demonstrate how Erasmus+ enables students to learn beyond the classroom, experience different cultures, communicate across languages and build connections with young people across Europe.
Through these activities, we aim to show that although we are an island in the Mediterranean, our school is closely connected to Europe. Erasmus+ and eTwinning enable us to bring Europe closer to our school, share our Maltese identity with others and encourage our students to become open-minded, active and confident European and global citizens.
