This year’s Erasmus Days programme at IC Carmagnola II spans a full week of interactive workshops and activities centred around the theme “Learning and growing: skills for tomorrow”. The school is hosting a visiting group of 13-year-old Spanish students, who are welcomed by their Italian peers of the same age, while pupils from all school levels, from kindergarten to lower secondary school, are actively involved in the Erasmus Days celebrations. Together, they create a dynamic platform for hands-on learning, intercultural exchange, and the development of future-oriented skills.
The week opens with welcome ceremonies and workshops focused on food education and sustainability, such as “Taste Italy” and hands-on activities in the school garden. Midweek, the programme highlights real-world competencies: Italian students step into leadership roles, acting as young local guides and accompanying their peers through the historic centers of Carmagnola and Turin. In collaboration with IIS “Velso Mucci” in Bra and Slow Food Italia, participants put their skills to the test in a series of thematic workshops dedicated to sustainable cooking, biodiversity preservation, green skills, and culinary-scientific investigation (“C.S.I.”).

Beyond traditional classroom activities, students experience daily school life together, build connections with younger pupils in primary school, and explore local heritage at the Mint Museum in Pancalieri. Overall, the event emphasises environmental awareness and competencies, teamwork, and the human and social value of European mobility programmes.
