A Taste of Solidarity: Tunisian Couscous & Intercultural Community Gathering

As part of Erasmus Days 2026, Antalya Turkuaz Youth Association will organise an intercultural community gathering in Cihadiye Neighbourhood, bringing together local residents and European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteers around a traditional Tunisian dish, couscous. Alongside the cultural food sharing, Project Coordinator Sümeyye Ülger Burak will lead a dedicated informative session during the event. This session will provide valuable insights into Erasmus+ Youth Projects and European Solidarity Corps (ESC) opportunities, guiding local youth and residents on how to actively participate in international mobility and volunteering initiatives. Through preparing, sharing, and enjoying Tunisian couscous together, participants will discover different culinary traditions, exchange cultural experiences, and build meaningful connections across generations and cultures. The activity will create an inclusive and welcoming environment where international volunteers and local community members can interact, learn from one another, and celebrate diversity through food and hospitality. In line with the objectives of Erasmus+ and ESC51 volunteering projects, the event aims to promote intercultural dialogue, social inclusion, solidarity, active citizenship, and community participation, particularly by strengthening the involvement of local residents in international volunteering activities. The gathering will demonstrate how simple shared experiences can overcome cultural barriers, encourage mutual understanding, and build stronger communities.
