Pinocchio’s Inclusive Adventure – Learning Together Through Play An Erasmus+ Good Practice for Inclusive Early Childhood Education

As part of Erasmus Days 2026, Școala Gimnazială Vulcan, Romania, is sharing an educational good practice observed during an Erasmus+ job-shadowing mobility in Montescaglioso and Pomarico, Italy, from 9 to 13 March 2026.
During the mobility, teacher Liliana Niculina Vlad observed an interactive, inclusive learning activity for preschool children, using a colorful floor grid, directional arrows and picture cards to develop spatial orientation, attention, memory, movement and cooperation.
Inspired by this experience, the teachers prepared a practical educational guide entitled “Pinocchio – Discovering the Story Together!”, proposing an adaptation of the observed method through storytelling, visual clues and collaborative play.
The guide includes activity instructions, suggested materials and adaptations for children with special educational needs, encouraging every child to participate at their own pace.
By making this resource available to other educators, we aim to disseminate Erasmus+ learning outcomes, share inspiring European teaching practices and support inclusive education in preschools and primary schools.
