Erasmus+ and Youth Opportunities in Europe
Nenehatun, Gazel Sokak, Arnavutköy/İstanbul, Türkiye
Open to public
Mehmet Akif Ersoy Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi
This ErasmusDays seminar aims to raise awareness among high school students about international education, training, mobility, and volunteering opportunities available through Erasmus+, eTwinning, the European Solidarity Corps, DiscoverEU, and other European youth initiatives.
The event will introduce students to the opportunities they can explore at different stages of their educational journey, from high school to university and beyond. Particular attention will be given to Erasmus+ opportunities in vocational education and training, youth exchanges, international volunteering, and higher education mobility programmes. Students will learn how these experiences can help them develop foreign language skills, intercultural awareness, self-confidence, teamwork, and professional competencies.
As a vocational high school, we aim to demonstrate that international opportunities are not limited to university students or those with extensive experience abroad. Students from different vocational fields, including gastronomy, information technology, graphic design, and other technical disciplines, will be encouraged to discover how their interests and skills can contribute to international cooperation.
The seminar will also introduce our school’s ongoing eTwinning projects and international partnerships, highlighting opportunities for students to collaborate with peers from other European countries. Through examples of project activities and student experiences, participants will gain a clearer understanding of how international cooperation can begin within their own school.
**A central objective of the event is to encourage students to move from awareness to active participation.** Students will be invited to express their interest in joining our school’s international project teams, contribute their own ideas, and take responsibility for future collaborative activities. Special emphasis will be placed on reaching students who have not previously participated in international projects and helping them recognise their potential to become active contributors.
By the end of the seminar, participants are expected to have a better understanding of European youth opportunities, know where to find reliable information about relevant programmes, and feel more confident about taking their first steps towards international experiences.
Ultimately, this ErasmusDays event seeks to foster a culture of international cooperation, inclusion, and active participation within our school, while inspiring students to explore new educational and professional possibilities beyond their immediate environment.
