Mini Touches to European Cuisine: Erasmus Days at Home

he 11-Y Food and Beverage Preparation class (19 students) at Karamürsel Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi is celebrating Erasmus Days by bringing European culture directly into their family kitchens. Each student is paired with a different EU country and will prepare a practical snack, finger food, or non-alcoholic cocktail representing that country’s culinary heritage. Since the students will prepare these European recipes at home, the project naturally involves their parents and siblings. This approach spreads the awareness of European cultural diversity and inclusion beyond the school walls and directly to the families. The prepared menus will be plated beautifully alongside the respective country’s flag. Each student will shoot a maximum 1-minute video in their home kitchen featuring their final product, concluding with the enthusiastic slogan “Erasmus Days!”. These videos will be compiled and shared on our school’s official website and social media accounts using the hashtags #ErasmusDays and #ErasmusPlus. This activity not only showcases the vocational skills of our VET students but also builds an intercultural bridge right at the heart of their homes.
