FIND YOUR MATCH

Mini Speed Friending is an interactive social activity designed to help students meet new people, discover shared interests, appreciate differences, and develop meaningful connections.

Each student receives a Find Your Match Card with simple challenges such as finding someone who wants to learn the same skill, likes the same kind of music, would like to visit the same country, or has a skill they would like to have.

Students must talk to different people for each challenge. The rule “ONE PERSON = ONE BOX” encourages them to move beyond their usual friendship groups and interact with students they do not normally talk to.

The activity also includes a “Different Can Be Interesting!” challenge, where students find someone who has a different opinion from theirs and briefly discover what they think differently about. The aim is not to debate, but to experience how differences can lead to curiosity, understanding, and learning.

Students can complete 3, 4, or 6 matches, with each level offering a fun sense of achievement. At the end, they reflect on their experience by choosing one statement on the “Today I Discovered That…” board:

🤝 *Talking to someone new is easier than I thought.*

The activity takes approximately 5–8 minutes per student and is supported by student volunteers who help participants connect, especially those who arrive alone.

Through this activity, students practise key Skills for Tomorrow, including collaboration, empathy, social skills, communication, openness to diversity, and adaptability.

The main message:
Step outside your usual circle. Talk to someone new. You may discover something you have in common — or something new to learn.
