Welcome in All Our Languages – Our School Language Wall

Description of the event:
How many languages are spoken at our school? To celebrate Erasmus Days, one of our classes sets up an interactive language wall in the school hall. The wall shows a large list of languages, and everyone at school – students, teachers and staff – is invited to add a sticker next to each language they speak or learn. Everyone can also add a sticky note with the word “Welcome” in their language, written in its original script. Missing languages can be added to the list at any time, so the wall grows throughout the week. Next to the wall, a small info poster with a QR code tells students how they can go abroad with Erasmus+ at our school and leads them directly to more information. The activity makes the linguistic diversity of our school community visible, shows multilingualism as a valuable skill for learning and working in Europe, and encourages students to explore their own opportunities abroad with Erasmus+.
