This Erasmus Days event will promote and share our current projects, “Every Day Matters, Every Voice Counts” and “Blue Horizons”. All activities are connected to these projects and give students the opportunity to share their ideas, develop skills and take action for a more inclusive and sustainable Europe.
1. Video interviews
Skills: Language, citizenship and digital skills
Question: What skill will make Europe shine?
Related to our Erasmus + project Every Day Matters, Every Voice Counts: students share their voices and ideas.
Students involved in Erasmus projects interview their classmates during the break and record their answers on an iPad. Interviews take place alongside the recycling activity. Add European music when editing the video, then share it on the school’s social media.
Possible answers: Teamwork, creativity, respect, problem-solving, science, languages, digital skills, environmental responsibility.
Materials: iPad
Timing: Recorded throughout the break; edit the video afterwards.
2. Our School Recycles
Skills: Teamwork, science and creativity
Related to our Erasmus + project Blue Horizons: students take action to protect the environment.
In teams, students assemble and decorate the school’s rigid cardboard recycling bins using the environment-themed stickers they have designed.
Challenge:
Can we make our school shine by working together and recycling better?
Steps:
Assemble the bins — 8–10 minutes
Students share the tasks and build the bins together.
Identify and decorate — 8–10 minutes
Each team checks which waste belongs in its bin, then decorates it with the students’ stickers. Add the project logo, Blue Horizons, and the words Erasmus Days.
Materials: Cardboard bins and the students’ stickers.
3. Europe Skills Map
Title: THE SKILLS THAT MAKE EUROPE SHINE
Related to our Erasmus+ projects, Every Day Matters, Every Voice Counts and Blue Horizons (and also to all our projects). Students share what they learned during their trips and the skills they developed.
Display this prompt:
Which skill did you bring back from your Erasmus trip?
Each student places a sticker on the country or city they visited and writes one word on it to represent the most important skill they developed during the trip.
Possible words:
Communication
Confidence
Independence
Teamwork
Adaptability
Creativity
Curiosity
Respect
Languages
Problem-solving
Materials: A printed map of Europe, stickers and markers.
Timing: the time of the recess, while the interviews continue.
Project dissemination: The map makes students’ Erasmus experiences and learning visible, while connecting them to the skills and values promoted by both projects.
