Inspired by Istanbul’s iconic identity as the City of Seven Hills, ‘Seven Hills, Seven Regions, One Erasmus+ Spirit of Istanbul’ will bring the city together in a simultaneous celebration of cultural diversity, international cooperation and the transformative power of education.
Seven Hills, Seven Regions, One Erasmus+ Spirit of Istanbul will be a large-scale, simultaneous public engagement event held on 14 October 2026 across seven different regions of Istanbul, bringing together more than 500 students and teachers from 39 towns who have participated in Erasmus+ accreditation projects implemented by the consortium. By transforming seven public spaces into vibrant centres of European exchange, cultural interaction and learning, the event aims to celebrate the values of Erasmus+, showcase the achievements and impact of international mobility experiences, and strengthen public awareness of the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ Programme.
At least seven dedicated Erasmus+ activity tents will be set up, offering an open and welcoming environment where visitors can discover European cultures, explore international learning opportunities and experience the spirit of Erasmus+ through active participation.
The programme will feature a diverse range of interactive and experiential activities, including Erasmus+ Culture, Mobility Experience Sharing, Country and Culture Games, the Erasmus Passport Challenge, intercultural workshops and student-led presentations. Students and teachers who have taken part in international mobility activities will share their personal experiences, learning outcomes and cultural discoveries, providing first-hand insights into how Erasmus+ contributes to personal development, intercultural understanding, language learning, social inclusion and professional growth. Through games, creative workshops and collaborative activities, visitors will be encouraged not only to learn about different European countries and cultures but also to become active participants in the Erasmus+ experience.
Digital dissemination and public engagement
A strong digital communication strategy will complement the face-to-face activities and extend the event’s reach beyond the seven physical locations. Video recordings, short interviews, live Instagram broadcasts and real-time social media updates will document the activities, highlight participants’ experiences and enable wider audiences to follow the celebrations simultaneously.
