Erasmus Days-OŠ ” Matija Gubec” and AE Bom Sucesso celebrating together

From 12 to 16 October 2026, OŠ Matija Gubec in Tavankut will celebrate Erasmus Days together with students and teachers from AE Bom Sucesso, Alverca do Ribatejo, Portugal.

The event will bring together participants from both schools through a programme of educational, cultural and creative activities aimed at promoting intercultural dialogue, active participation, cooperation and European values. Students will take part in workshops and lessons involving traditional crafts, mathematics, science, languages, music, cooking and traditional games, while discovering the cultural heritage of Tavankut, Subotica and Palić.

A key activity will be a mini Public Forum debate tournament on the topic “Every student should experience an Erasmus mobility.” Students from both schools will apply debating skills and techniques developed through their previous cooperation in the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH project Young People Matter. The debate will encourage students to present arguments, listen actively, consider different perspectives and engage in respectful and constructive discussion about the benefits and challenges of Erasmus mobility.

The programme will also include a food festival featuring Portuguese and Vojvodina traditions, opportunities to share traditional music and dances as well as activities that encourage students to learn from one another and build international friendships.

Through this event, OŠ Matija Gubec and AE Bom Sucesso will celebrate the Erasmus+ spirit by connecting learning, cultural exchange and active citizenship. The Erasmus Days week will highlight how international cooperation can enrich students’ learning experiences, strengthen their sense of European belonging and create opportunities for meaningful collaboration between schools and communities.
