“Welcome to Erasmus 2026-2027” — Erasmus Days week at EOI Las Rozas (12–17 October)

To mark Erasmus Days, EOI Las Rozas (Official School of Languages, Las Rozas, Madrid) is holding “Welcome to Erasmus 2026-2027”, a week of activities open to the whole school community, celebrating that, for the first time, our school holds Erasmus+ accreditation and has launched its very first mobility project. The week brings together literature, the importance of music and a warm welcome to this new European chapter for our school, through three activities that reflect the very spirit of our Erasmus Plan: cultural engagement, critical thinking, and the emotional welbeing of our whole school community.

Tuesday 13 October, 18:30 — Conversation with Julio Llamazares: “El viaje de mi padre” 2025
One of our school’s book clubs chose this book and invited the author himself to talk about it. A work of travel literature, it follows Llamazares as he retraces the same route his father took during the Spanish Civil War as a radio telegraphist for the Nationalist side, from León to the Mediterranean coast. A conversation touching on depopulated rural Spain, the difference between tourism and travel, memory, and war and peace.

Thursday 15 October (from 18:00) — Launch party for our first Erasmus+ accreditation
We will present the main features of our accreditation and this first Erasmus+ project: what it means for the school, which mobilities we will carry out, and what objectives we are pursuing. During the same event, we will award the prizes for our Literature Week, voted for by students among the best literary excerpts displayed by each language department in the school corridors throughout the week.

Friday 16 October (morning) — Singing and mental health
To mark World Mental Health Day (10 October), musicologist Jessica Knight, who leads our school’s community singing groups, will give a talk on the connection between singing and mental health, followed by a demonstration by the group itself.
