CONNECTING STUDENTS, CONNECTING EUROPE – Italy & France
Via Giuseppe Garibaldi, Misterbianco Metropolitan city of Catania, Italy
Istituto Comprensivo Leonardo Da Vinci
During ErasmusDays 2026, pupils from an Italian school and a partner school in Normandy, France, will take part in a collaborative project entitled “Connecting Students, Connecting Europe”.
Italian and French pupils have created a short video together, alternating their voices and messages in English, French and Italian. Through images of their local areas and references to their culture, languages and everyday life, the students show how young Europeans can discover one another, communicate and build connections across borders.
The project will culminate on 16 October 2026, the day chosen by the two schools to celebrate Erasmus Days. On that day, the collaborative video will be published on the social media channels of both schools, allowing the wider school communities to share in the experience.
The pupils will also meet through a live video call between the Italian and French schools. This will give them the opportunity to see one another, interact directly and experience European cooperation in a real and meaningful way.
The activity promotes intercultural dialogue, European citizenship, communication, digital collaboration and friendship between young people from different countries.
Through this shared experience, the pupils will discover that, although they live far apart and speak different languages, Europe can bring them closer together.
