When Students Switch Off: How Can We Help Them Re-ENGAGE?

What happens when a student is physically present at school, but gradually becomes disconnected from learning, classmates and school life?

During this interactive Erasmus Days online event, Fundatia EuroEd invites teachers, school counsellors, parents and other members of the school community to explore practical ways of recognising the early signs of student disengagement and responding before these difficulties develop into more serious problems.

The event is organised within the Erasmus+ ENGAGE project – Preventing Student Disengagement and Implicit School Dropout – and will introduce participants to practical resources developed by the European partnership, including real-life case studies, prevention strategies and online training materials for teachers, families and school counsellors.

Rather than a traditional project presentation, the session will encourage participants to reflect on familiar situations from school life, discuss possible warning signs and exchange simple strategies that can help students reconnect with learning and with their school community.

Participants will also discover how the Service Learning approach can contribute to stronger student participation, motivation and sense of belonging.

The session is informal, practical and open to everyone interested in creating more inclusive and engaging school environments. No previous knowledge of the ENGAGE project is required.
