Beyond Borders: Youth Voices in Dialogue is a hybrid panel discussion and public debate organised during Erasmus Days 2026.

The event will explore how international mobility, volunteering and intercultural encounters can influence the way young people understand their communities, their European identity and their role as active citizens.

Rather than offering only a traditional presentation, the event will create an open space for dialogue between former Erasmus+ participants, volunteers, youth workers, students and young people who are considering joining an international project for the first time.

The central part of the event will be a moderated panel featuring volunteers and young people who have participated in youth exchanges, training courses, educational activities and international mobility programmes. They will discuss their personal experiences, the challenges they faced, the skills they developed and the ways in which these experiences changed their perspectives.

The discussion will also address broader questions concerning cultural diversity, social inclusion, stereotypes, communication between people from different backgrounds and the contribution of young people to more open and inclusive communities.

Following the panel, participants will be invited to join an interactive debate. They will be able to express opinions, ask questions, respond to short discussion prompts and share their own experiences related to volunteering, intercultural learning and youth participation.

Previous projects and activities will be presented through short stories, photographs, videos and testimonies. The event will also introduce future initiatives and explain how interested young people can become volunteers, participants or contributors to upcoming local and international activities.

The event will take place both face-to-face in Cluj-Napoca and online. Online participants will be able to follow the panel, contribute questions and participate in selected debate sessions.

The event is open to young people, students, volunteers, youth workers, educators and anyone interested in intercultural dialogue, European opportunities and community participation.

No previous Erasmus+ experience is required.
