Volunteering for Nature Conservation Slovakia

During this Erasmus Days initiative, students were introduced to the unique ecosystem of Ostrovné lúčky, where exceptionally rare orchids grow. Their mission was to help clearing the meadows by removing invasive plants that threaten these fragile species. Using gardening tools, the students actively contributed to protecting this valuable natural habitat.

Beyond the ecological impact, the activity also strengthened teamwork. Students spent the morning outdoors, discovering local biodiversity while engaging in meaningful environmental work. This experience highlighted the power of youth involvement in nature conservation and the values promoted by the Erasmus+ programme.
