Lisbon Commerce School Inaugural Lecture

The Inaugural Lecture takes place every year on 16 October, coinciding with the anniversary of the Lisbon Commerce School, and stands as one of the most significant moments in the academic and institutional life of our educational community. This event also fits perfectly within the period and context of the Erasmus Days celebrations, reinforcing our School’s strong commitment to international cooperation and European values. The ceremony always features a guest speaker, who delivers an inspiring lecture on a topic of relevance to the educational community, as well as to partners and business leaders from the commerce, services, tourism, and hospitality sectors. This year, the lecture will be delivered by Conceição Zagalo, Chair of the Board of the LIGA Foundation, under the title “Great Changes Begin Within Us!” During the event, merit awards are also presented to students who have distinguished themselves over the past academic year, including the best overall student, the top student of each course, and the best project supporting the Professional Aptitude Test. One of the most symbolic moments of the ceremony is the presentation of the professional integration awards, both national and international, which recognise the success of students in their transition to the labour market. Special emphasis is given to the Erasmus+ Professional Integration Award, granted to a student who completed a medium or long-term mobility placement under the Erasmus+ Programme—a concrete example of the School’s commitment to internationalisation and European mobility. The regular presence of representatives from the Erasmus+ National Agency further reinforces this dimension, highlighting the Lisbon Commerce School as a benchmark in promoting educational and professional experiences beyond borders, within an open, innovative, and global learning environment.
