Theatre Class – Final-Year Students of ART’J

As part of Erasmus Days 2025, we welcome you to experience the work of the final-year professional theatre students from ART’J.
Under the guidance of Prof.ª Cristina Vieira, this class offers an opportunity to observe young actors at the culmination of their artistic training, as they refine their craft through voice, movement, presence, and emotional depth.
As part of their final-year work, the students are currently rehearsing the play A Promessa by Bernardo Santareno — a cornerstone of Portuguese dramatic literature. This powerful and socially resonant piece invites them to engage critically with themes of tradition, repression, and transformation, while honing their interpretative and expressive skills.
This class is more than a rehearsal — it is a living reflection of Erasmus+ values: creativity, cultural exchange, and experiential learning. Theatre becomes a space where stories cross borders, and where students grow not only as performers, but as thoughtful, engaged European citizens.
