University of Salerno

The University of Salerno is pleased to present a two-part sports initiative aimed at fostering integration and intercultural dialogue among local and international students through the shared experience of sport. This event is designed to promote inclusivity, cooperation, and mutual understanding, reinforcing the values of friendship and sportsmanship across different nationalities and cultures. The first event will transform the main square of the Fisciano Campus into a vibrant hub of recreational sports activities, offering a welcoming environment for students of all backgrounds to participate in light, accessible sports. These activities will include table tennis, foosball, ping-pong, badminton, basketball shooting, shots on goal, chess, and checkers. This informal sports event is open to all students—no matter their skill level or experience—and emphasizes the values of cooperation, communication, and cross-cultural friendships through the universal language of sport. Running concurrently with the Open Sports Activities, the second event will take place at the university’s sports facilities on both the Fisciano and Baronissi campuses. Specifically tailored to international students, this segment offers a unique opportunity to explore and engage in various sports, with activities including tennis, five-a-side soccer, ping-pong, badminton, basketball, and volleyball. The goal is to provide international students with the chance to try out different sports in a supportive environment, discover their athletic preferences, and promote physical activity as a pathway to well-being and community building.
