Rusalka KINDERGARTEN, BULGARIA, Vidin, organizes a Conference to present the results of the first meeting under ERASMUS+ Project N 2023-2-BG01-KA210-SCH-000175420 “Happy Children – Future STEAM Innovators and Explorers” within the framework of the ERASMUS+ DAYS 14-19 campaign October 2024. The theme of the Conference is “The possibilities of the STEAM approach for developing complex skills in preschool children”. The purpose of the Conference is to share the experience gained from working on the Project with Kindergarten teachers and to promote the implementation of the STEAM approach in preschool age. The conference is organized in five sessions: 1. Developing STEAM skills by building an innovative creative environment. 2. Models for STEAM learning through games. 3. Hands-on exercises for STEAM learning by doing. 4. The symbiosis between play and science in the game session “Across the Universe”. 5. STEAM fun and education through construction games. Forms and means of implementing the sessions: presentation; discussion; examples of appropriate environments; offering different types of games – functional, creative, etc.; examples of conducting scientific experiments in a children’s environment – first attempts at planning, construction and design; examples of designing and creating a three-dimensional model, exercises for children’s spatial and analytical thinking; a practical challenge. Participants: teachers from kindergartens in Vidin region, BULGARIA and representatives of Educational authorities. Expected results: Improving the teacher competencies of STEAM approach for developing children’s creative potential. Realization of STEAM-based learning through “learning by playing” and “learning by doing” methods, using innovative lessons.
